Poacher fatally stabs forest ranger in central Vietnam
By Thanh Nien News -
Police in the central province of Ninh Thuan are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed a ranger at a national park to death after being caught inside the protected area, local media reported.
Le Dinh Tue, 34, and several rangers at Nui Chua National Park reportedly spotted some local residents in a mangrove forest digging up the roots to find sea worms.
The rangers tried to stop the residents, saying such an act is prohibited in the protected area. The two sides argued and then the group of residents left.
While Tue was walking back home, one of the residents allegedly stabbed him in his chest and arms with a fork. The man fled the scene.
The ranger died on his way to hospital.
Local police believed the suspect usually entered the forest to catch sea worms.
