About 5,000 tablets of MDMA, also known as Ecstasy or Molly, that weighed about 1.85 kilograms were found and have a street value of more than US$100,000, police said.
Officers learned that multiple packages containing MDMA tablets were being sent through the US Postal Service over the past few weeks to three Santa Cruz addresses, where search warrants were served on Friday (March 4), police said.
They also learned that Homeland Security investigators were able to stop a second shipment from arriving to the group, police said.
MDMA is a psychoactive drug that can lead to serious health complications or death.
