The Hanoi police Monday arrested two people for allegedly trafficking 40 wild animals including a protected loris.
They have handed over the loris along with four black-breasted leaf turtles and 35 frogs to a local wildlife rescue center.
The arrests were made with support from conservation group Education for Nature-Vietnam.
The police said the suspects were carrying the animals from Lang Son Province in the northern highlands and were about to sell them to consumers in the capital.
The loris is listed as endangered and requiring protection priority.
