Vietnam will continue to give priority to the private sector which plays a part in the country's "sustainable" economic growth, the government website quoted Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh as saying at a recent business forum in Ho Chi Minh City.
Around 500,000 businesses within the sector contribute up to 30 percent of the state revenues and 40 percent of gross domestic product, Ninh told the annual event organized by Forbes Vietnam on Monday.
He promised that the government will always support businesses and balance the interests for both the state and the private sector.
The government will keep stabilizing the economy and "improving market economy's mechanism," the deputy PM told nearly 400 executives of local and foreign businesses who attended the meeting.
Its efforts will include "strong" economic restructuring and administrative reformation in sectors of customs, tax, insurance, land management, and investment, as well as the improvement of human resources, he said.
"If there is any problem, we are ready to listen to opinions through dialogues. Vietnamese government considers your success as our own and your trouble as ours," Ninh was quoted as saying.
