Farmers in Thanh Hoa Province has found many pottery artifacts that may date back to a thousand years in their fields.
They unearthed around 100 jars, bowls and plates at a location about one kilometer from the Ho Citadel, a stone fortress built in 1397.
Archeologists Tran Anh Dung said similar items had been found in Hanoi and Vinh Phuc Province before. They dated back to the 10th century CE, when the country just declared independence from China.
The artifacts have been brought back to the
Ho Citadel Heritage Conservation Center for further study.
